La corruption est l’utilisation abusive d’un pouvoir à des fins privées tel que l’enrichissement personnel ou celui d’un tiers ou d’une entité. Elle consiste, pour un fonctionnaire, un magistrat, un agent public, un élu, un médecin, un salarié d’une entreprise privée, à faire ou à s’abstenir de faire, à faciliter un acte ou une opération, de par sa fonction, en échange d’une promesse, d’une offre, d’un don, d’une somme d’argent ou de tout autre avantage.
