1. Les fautes de Français. Si elles ne sont pas l’apanage des arnaqueurs, elles sont presque toujours un signe qui doit vous mettre la puce à l’oreille, d’autant plus quand, pour vous rassurer, votre interlocuteur tente (en vain) un langage soutenu.

2. Un interlocuteur au ton directif et pressant qui, au fur et à mesure que les échanges se multiplient, s’accentue. L’arnaqueur cherche à prendre de l’autorité sur des potentielles victimes. Souvent, ils ajoutent que vous n’êtes pas le ou la seul(e) intéressé(e). Ils joignent aussi en abondance de belles photos de professionnels.

3. Une justification du mandat cash : « je me suis moi-même fait avoir par le passé » et « je suis handicapé et ne peut me déplacer » (notez l’appel à la compassion... Et toujours la même idée : handicapé, je ne peux pas être un méchant arnaqueur !)

4. Un souci (hypocrite) d’honnêteté : du type « gardez les CODES jalousement pour la visite », une demande de photocopie « TOUT EN PRENANT SOIN DE CACHER LE CODE ». Cela est destiné à vous rassurer : sans le code, vous ne risquez rien. Ce qui est totalement faux puisque seul le numéro suffit.

5. 6. Dans la même veine, ils font souvent faire appel à la pitié : le handicap, la maladie - incurable, sinon ce ne serait pas drôle -, la mort des proches...
