Leading figure of contemporary poetry, Carole David was issued, last month, a ninth collection of poetry entitled the year of my disappearance. With the sharp pen as it is known, she explores the absence, his own, others, which opens gaps in time, branch lines in the lives. The stories resulting take place in parallel, separated and joined together in the memory like so many missed appointments. Cause the absence, accept it, adopt it even, to endorse the ' wound sewn by hand on the back of his head / [which] was enough to make it invisible. Because despite the beings that surround it, the poet is alone: "I am vanity, a thing to which it renounces"; between the dream and the ghosts, it divests itself of its dead, viewing spinning memories, his 'spoils' that nobody wants but which the haunt.
